The dai : Traditional midwives in Pakistan
A family member of Ghair Bibi makes bread.
Women traditionally run the house hold and make sure their families are fed. Even so, most women in Pakistan suffer from severe anemia, which counts for many of the complications during or shortly after delivering babies. With food prices rising and vegetables and meat becoming too expensive, the problem only increases and more cases of malnourishment are reported in local hospitals. Karachi, Pakistan, 2011
