Because I'm a girl: violence against women
Jamila shows an old press clipping about the murder of her daughter Sobia. The article shows both the murderer, her daughter Sobia as well as the bloody crime scene where her heavily mutilated body was found.
In fighting for justice, she defies the whole neighborhood, who want her to drop the criminal charges against the rapist.
Besides the psychological trauma and attached stigma, the women and their families, are often harassed by the family of the rapist. They blackmail the victims and try to persuade the families into settling out of court. Karachi, Pakistan, 2011
